Rapid Valley is an unincorporated community immediately east of Rapid City with a little over 8,000 people in it — more than Sturgis. Because it is a census-designated place rather than a town, it tends to get quoted as "Rapid City" and visited last.
It is ten minutes from the middle of the city, which makes it one of the easiest places on this list to get an estimate in.
Most of the housing here filled in over the last few decades, which puts a lot of it at the point where the original coating is long gone and what matters is what the last painter did. Old coatings, old caulk lines and previous patching are the actual job; the color is the easy part.
